Alexa’s commitment to advocacy is shaped by her own experience of incarceration and reentry. She uses storytelling as a tool to challenge harmful narratives about people impacted by the criminal legal system and to amplify the voices of incarcerated women of color.
Alexa brings a strong interest in research and analysis to support effective policy reform for individuals impacted by the criminal legal system. She earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Tarleton State University and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Texas Center for Higher Education in Prison.
