Koretta Brown is the Executive Director of Bridges 2 Empowerment, an organization dedicated to furnishing educational and financial support to underserved communities. Having navigated her own challenges as a re-entry citizen, Koretta established Bridges 2 Empowerment and The Young and The Politics in 2019. Since then, she has significantly expanded their impact, effecting change in countless lives.
Koretta leverages her personal journey to empower others impacted by the system. She advocates for restorative justice, emphasizing accountability, investment in incarcerated individuals striving for change, and comprehensive re-entry support.
With a wealth of experience in nonprofit roles, Koretta champions the cause of underserved communities, tirelessly striving to furnish them with essential resources. In the past year alone, Bridges To Empowerment facilitated the growth of three individual businesses through platform building, networking, and grant opportunities. Additionally, they supported seven churches with a Mother's Day program and assisted in fundraising and organizing their inaugural Souls to the Polls event. Koretta attended Ross Sterling High School, Central Texas College, San Jacinto College, and Texas Southern University.
