Amanda Cassidy - Trejo is a woman in long-term recovery from substance use disorders and the carceral system. In her recovery journey, she has discovered a passion for community service and the ability to use her own story to elevate those who are unable to be heard. Amanda has served as the ReEntry Advocacy Fellow for the Austin/Travis County Reentry Roundtable where she has developed skills in advocacy and bridge-building between system-impacted individuals and community organizations/agencies. She has acquired her certification in ReEntry Peer Support in order to hone her skills in being a beacon of hope for community members as they embark on their own self-guided reentry journey. Amanda is currently working on her Certification in Non-Profit Leadership & Management through Austin Community College, she co-facilitates the ReEntry Advocacy Project, has served on the Board of Directors for Building Promise USA, and has completed the FICPFM Organizer Training Fellowship.
